Home size is only a starting point. The number of residents, closets, books, décor, kitchen items, storage areas, and your decluttering plan can change the total substantially.
Clean, dry, sturdy used boxes can work for some items. Avoid weakened, stained, pest-exposed, or food-contaminated cartons, and use purpose-built boxes for fragile or high-value items.
Avoid filling large cartons with books, dishes, canned goods, tools, or other dense items. Large boxes are better for lightweight bulky belongings such as bedding and pillows.
